About

Teaching Social Data Analytics and Research core curriculum: Methods of Data Collection and Production, Data Visualization, Information Management, and Knowledge Mining.

Since 2024 I have directed the university’s Taiwan Studies Initiative and Taiwan Research Academy, which together carry external support from the Taiwan Ministry of Education, the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, and private donors. I also built a dual degree program in data science with National Chung Hsing University, signed in 2023 and first enrolling students in 2024.

My research uses generative and synthetic methods to study electoral behavior in East Asia and the United States, with recent work on media effects in Taiwan elections, synthetic data, and the limits of language models.
